How do I lodge my visa application?
The most convenient way to apply for a visa to Australia is online. To start an application, you will first need to create an ImmiAccount.
Your ImmiAccount lets you create and manage all your online visa applications in one place. You can use your account to:
· lodge and pay for your visa application;
· continue a saved application;
· attach documents if required; and
· check the progress of your application.
Paper lodgement via Australian Visa Application Centre
If you are not able to lodge the visa application online for any reason, you may lodge a paper applications for some visa types at an Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC). Please note that an additional service fee is payable if you wish to use this service.
Please note: Commencing 24 June 2019, the provider of AVAC and Biometric Collection services for Australian visa applicants in South Africa will change from TLS to VFS.

Please do not send your application to the Australian High Commission.
If you reside in a country without an Australian Visa Application Centre and do not wish to lodge online.
The preferred and most efficient way to apply for a visa is online. If you do not want to lodge online, and there is no VAC in your country of usual residence, then you must courier your application to the AVAC in Johannesburg. Please note this option will also incur an additional service fee.

What documents will be required?
All applications should be lodged complete, with all required forms and supporting documentation. If your visa application is not complete, your visa application may be refused.
You can upload all supporting documentation via ImmiAccount as part of your application.
